Update - An unnamed juvenile was arrested for the alleged killing of Malik Jones, whose body was found dead Feb. 7 north of Columbia. A 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody for the alleged killing of a Macon man who went missing in February, the Boone County Sheriff's Office announced.
Summary:
Malik was last known to be in Columbia, MO. He was meeting someone in the area of Columbia Mall which was also near where his cell phone last pinged. Foul play was initially suspected and Malik was later found deceased by a community search party in a wooded area and appeared to be a victim of homicidal violence.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the last date of contact with Malik Jones, 25, of Macon, was Tuesday, January 30. Officials said Jones may have been enroute to Columbia - which was about a 60 mile drive. He was possibly driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu bearing Missouri license plate TK5-D3V.

February 7th, 2024: Media and Public Information Release: On 02/07/2024, shortly before 12:00 pm, Boone County Joint Communications received a call reporting a deceased body had been located in the 6100 block of Creasy Springs Road North. Deputies responded and were directed to a wooded area near the roadway at this location, where they discovered the body of Malik Jones, age 25, who was recently reported missing to the Macon Police Department. The investigation into the disappearance and death of Jones is active and no other information will be released by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at this time; however, further information may be released later.
