A family friend is charged with capital murder in the death of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham. The murder suspect lived on the family's property and was supposed to take the girl to her school bus on the day she disappeared. A large rock was tied to her body when search teams found it in the Trinity River in a rural area north of Houston about 10 miles from her home, according to the capital murder criminal complaint filed against Don Steven McDougal.

Audrii Cunningham was last seen near her home, around 7:00 a.m. on February 15th, and was supposed to catch a school bus, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. But she never got on the bus and never made it to school. An Amber Alert was issued for her on February 15. Audrii's backpack was discovered near Lake Livingston Dam but she remains missing.

Audrii was last seen near her residence at about 7 a.m. local time on Thursday in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in Livingston, Texas. She should have caught the school bus at her neighborhood bus stop; however, school officials reported to the Sheriff’s Office that the school bus did not pick Audrii up, nor did she report to school.
Additional Details:
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it’s receiving help from authorities at the Texas Ranger Division, the Department of Public Safety, the Livingston Police Department, the Texas State Guard, and a number of local fire departments.
