Summary:
Clarence Bennett is wanted for the homicide of Alyson Appling-France.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities allege that Clarence stalked Alyson as she went to a Target with her two daughters. As Alyson and her daughters went to go back to their apartment, Clarence allegedly informed his two co-defendants, who were waiting for her. When Alyson arrived at her apartment, Clarence’s co-defendants shot her 17 times in front of her daughters, killing her. Alyson’s homicide was described as an execution. The two co-defendants were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. Clarence remains at large and has an outstanding Aggravated Murder warrant, according to Cleveland’s municipal court records database. It should be noted that Clarence has a criminal history dating back to 1999 and was even charged with a 2017 mass shooting. In that case, five people were shot and one victim died from their injuries. Clarance had been found with a handgun and a rifle used in the crime. In 2020, Clarence took a plea deal and received a short sentence. While he was wanted for the 2017 mass shooting, the US Marshals found him in Las Vegas, Nevada. While Clarence could be anywhere, Las Vegas is still a potential location.
