Summary:
Leonard Mercury was last seen leaving Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA at 2 a.m. on Oct. 31, wearing hospital clothing and no shoes. He is in need of serious medical attention and may be disoriented, police said.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Officer said Mercury broke a window and jumped out from the second story of the hospital. He was headed in the direction of a nearby bike path wearing hospital clothing and no shoes, police say. K-9 unit tracked his scent to the edge of a lake. Mercury's wife said the Gardner Police Department’s efforts to look for her husband were initially intensive, with ground searches, K9 units and sonar sweeps, but have “tapered off” as the days have worn on. Wife has since received tips from three people who believe they saw a man matching Mercury’s description in three locations in Worcester. One person said he was asking for money and living in the woods. They did conduct another search of this area and did not find Mercury or any further clues.
