Cesar Jesus Govea is wanted for allegedly shooting his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend and a 17-year-old boy near the Wichita Boathouse in downtown Wichita, Kansas on August 24, 2025. The teen victims were struck by gunfire while inside a vehicle. Govea remains at large as of April 2026 and is considered armed and dangerous.

Circumstances of Offense:
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday when officers received a call that an apparent shooting victim had walked into the QuikTrip at Douglas and Seneca. Investigators told KAKE News that the shooting started as some sort of fight or argument in the 1100 block of West Douglas, near the Wichita Boathouse, involving an ex-boyfriend of one of the victims. That's when police said the suspect started shooting at the two in their truck, hitting them inside. The two teens, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, went to the hospital and are expected to survive. One had minor injuries to their foot, while the other had serious injuries.

Police said the 16-year-old was struck in the foot. Her injuries are minor. The 17-year-old was shot multiple times. WPD said his injuries are critical, but he is expected to survive. Wichita Police confirmed that Govea remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Multiple appeals have been issued to locate Govea as of the most recent reports in March 2026.
