Summary:

Bobbe Lee Parker is a fugitive wanted in connection with a fatal vehicular crash on August 30, 2024, in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. He was intoxicated and driving recklessly when his vehicle struck a cemetery column, killing passenger Shannon Renee Gray. Parker failed to appear for court hearings in January and February 2025, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

The crash occurred at around 1:09 a.m. at the eastern entrance of Christiansted cemetery, where a vehicle struck a pillar before colliding into an unoccupied truck parked outside the gate. Passenger Shannon Grey was pronounced dead at the scene. Parker was driving well above the 20 mile-per-hour speed limit in someone else's silver 2015 Nissan Rogue, police said, when he smashed into a parked Ford F-150 and two concrete pillars at the historic cemetery around 1 a.m. Aug. 30. Well-known restaurant worker and nanny Shannon Renee Gray, 39, was in the passenger seat. Neither Parker nor Gray were wearing seatbelts. Parker had a blood alcohol level of 0.299 — more than three-and-a-half times the legal limit — when measured at Juan F. Police subpoenaed Parker's medical records, which revealed he had been under the influence of cocaine, cannabis, and alcohol.

Additional Details:

Five days later he was arrested and questioned by police. In a video interview after the crash, Parker said he had been drinking beer and tequila at two St. Croix night spots but denied using any other drugs. Parker, who has no previous criminal record in the territory, was charged with negligent homicide, involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, driving without a seatbelt, and driving with a passenger not wearing a seatbelt. He pleaded not guilty and was released after posting $400 cash and signing an unsecured $49,600 bond. Parker was allowed to travel to Florida "to recover from his injuries while staying with family." On Jan. 15, Parker failed to appear for a court hearing, and his attorney Dwayne Henry said he had been unable to contact him. Henry informed Pickett on Jan. 24 that his client "had absconded." A bench warrant issued on Feb. 19, 2025, "remains outstanding," and scheduled another status conference for Nov. 18. After Parker failed to appear at the January hearing, a man claiming to be Parker's father posted on social media that his son had "ran off" and urged anyone who saw him to phone police. Parker has ties to Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida and New York. He has worked in table carpentry and in the restaurant industry. He is a known user of alcohol and drugs and may have altered his appearance.
