Circumstances of Offense:

On December 7, 2025, around 2:00 a.m., Uriel Cazares was involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend Dayna Fesler while driving from Jenks to Tulsa. During the dispute, Cazares kicked Fesler out of the vehicle. Fesler, left on the side of the road, went to a convenience store where she met 25-year-old Eriyon Tecson. Tecson, acting as a Good Samaritan, gave Fesler a ride to a family member's home in Jenks. The two women arrived at the house and waited outside for approximately 30 minutes for Fesler's cousin to come let them in. When Cazares arrived at the residence, he exited his vehicle and confronted Fesler. As Tecson got out of the car, Cazares deliberately drove his vehicle into her, accelerated into her a second time, and crushed her beneath the vehicle. Officers responding to the scene noted that Cazares had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and possessed an empty Beatbox drink can. Tecson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cazares was initially arrested for manslaughter and released after posting a $50,000 bond with no conditions. On December 8, 2025, charges were upgraded to first-degree murder after surveillance video from Jenks High School contradicted his statement that Tecson unexpectedly stepped in front of his vehicle. The video clearly showed Tecson walking toward Cazares' vehicle when she was still a considerable distance away, and showed him deliberately striking her and accelerating a second time. Cazares' passenger, Dayna Fesler, initially provided false statements to police, claiming Tecson would not let her leave the car and that Tecson began yelling. Fesler was charged with accessory to murder and pleaded not guilty, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 12. On December 9, 2025, Cazares was formally charged with first-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear for arraignment on December 15, 2025, but failed to appear. On December 15, Jenks Police held a news conference and announced Cazares was on the run. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Law enforcement agencies partnered with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office to locate him. On December 20, 2025, Cazares was added to Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond's 10 Most Wanted list. Jenks Police Chief Jason Jackson noted that the suspects waited 15 minutes before calling police and appeared to attempt to cover up the crime. Eriyon's mother, Lakeisha Stephens, has been vocal about seeking justice for her daughter, who had just turned 25 years old and was known for her kind heart and passion for helping others.
