Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Jacob was last seen through his window on April 2, 2025, by a property manager at his NYCHA apartment in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The city's Administration for Children's Services first learned of Jacob, who is autistic and does not speak, on Sept. 25, when a state hotline received a notification from someone concerned about his well-being. Authorities were called to the Howard Avenue home on Oct. 1 to conduct a wellness check at the request of the Administration of Children's Services. The boy's mother, Jacqueline Pritchett, 50, was acting evasive and claiming she didn't have a son, police said. After obtaining a search warrant for the home, an NYPD canine specialized in discovering bodies combed through the apartment and alerted cops to traces of blood in the refrigerator and on a mattress discarded behind the building in a dumpster.
Additional Details:
She does not have a child named Jacob, although she has a Jacob tattoo on her arm. Officers traced the garbage disposal to the Waste Management Plant in Green Point, New York, and a High Acres Landfill in Rochester, New York. Both the NYPD and the New York State Police waded through a total of 2,920,360 pounds of raw garbage, though nothing meaningful was found. Jacqueline Pritchett was freed from Rikers Island after a judge found that her continued detention violated her Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. The mother of an autistic 11-year-old Brooklyn boy who has been missing for months invoked her Fifth Amendment right in Brooklyn Family Court. Judge Dawn Orsatti pressed Jacqueline Pritchett for information that could help police find the child, Jacob Pritchett, who authorities believe has been missing since late September. Authorities say that Jacob had never been to school.
