Jonathan Romane Lyman, age 17, went missing on July 5, 2025 while visiting his grandparents' home on Highway 181 in Gaskin, Walton County. He is high-functioning autistic. Six months later, his disappearance hasn't been solved.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Jonathan, who is from South Florida, was visiting his grandparents' home on Highway 181 in Gaskin, Walton County, when he took a golf cart and drove off in the early morning hours. Investigators say he left sometime between midnight and 5AM on July 5, 2025. The golf cart was later found in Covington County on Finks Mill Road, near Geohagan Road, around Florala. It was discovered by a passerby sometime after 7:00 a.m. Lyman's cell phone pinged around six miles north of Highway 89 in Alabama at around 9:30 a.m. It is still unknown where Jonathan was traveling. It is also unknown what he was wearing when he disappeared, other than a pair of black boots.
Additional Details:
He may be in need of medical attention. Jonathan's mother said in an interview with the Walton County Sheriff's Office: "Our whole life revolved around Jonathan. He is our only child. Just Jonathan's presence makes the world a better place." Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman tells WDHN that since early July, deputies, investigators, volunteers, and possemen have searched the county and miles of dense forest. Drones, K-9 Teams, helicopters, and numerous other assets have been utilized over the last several months to help search for Jonathan. January 5th marks six months since Jonathan Lyman disappeared.
