Missing From:
Cicero, Illinois
Summary:
Edgardo Rodriguez is wanted for the homicide of 19-year-old Lorenzo Ayala. He is also wanted for questioning in the hit-and-run death of 22-year-old Manuel Barrera.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities say that Lorenzo ventured into rival gang territory with a friend to visit his grandmother at her home. On their way back home, they were attacked a group of juvenile Maniac Latin Disciples members. The fight escalated into a street brawl. That is when Edgardo pulled up to the scene in a vehicle. He allegedly came out firing two gunshots, striking and killing Lorenzo. Warrants for First Degree Murder and Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) would be issued for Edgardo’s arrest. At the time, Edgardo was also wanted for questioning in the hit-and-run death of Manuel Barrera. Edgardo is Mexican-American (born in the US) and has ties to the Chicago, Illinois area, along with Oklahoma and Durango, Mexico. As of this posting, public PACER records show that the UFAP warrant for Edgardo is still active. There was a docket entry in 2022 saying that Edgardo was still a fugitive. This is our reference to confirm Edgardo’s fugitive status since online state criminal court records are not publicly available out of Cook County, Illinois.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Edgardo’s whereabouts should contact the confidential Cicero Police Hotline at 708-863-COPS (2677) or Cook County Crime Stoppers (to be eligible for a potential reward) at 1-800-535-STOP. Edgardo should be considered very dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Lorenzo’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case. If Manuel’s case is still unsolved, hopefully arresting Edgardo can help with advancing that investigation.
