Last seen near the 1000 block of Cuba Road in Bridgeport. Unknown clothes at last appearance. It was said she was to go camping with her ex-boyfriend but that did not happen and she disappeared.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Wise County Deputy Sheriff Eric Debus said the 48-year-old’s disappearance is considered suspicious and foul play is believed to be involved. “We don’t believe she left that property on her own,” said Debus. The deputy chief said since the missing person’s report was made, investigators have searched the large property by ground, water and air and brought in a cadaver team to no avail. Hastings said there are a lot of rumors floating around the small community, including from the ex-boyfriend. “From what I heard, that her and the ex-boyfriend left to go fishing and camping and that only the ex-boyfriend returned and her car was found in the back of the field,” she said. NBC 5 spoke with a man who said his mother owned the 200+ acre property and was among those who last saw Sanford. He declined an on-camera interview, but insisted she left alone and did not leave with her ex-boyfriend. The sheriff’s office can only confirm that a man considered a ‘person of interest’ in this case is in custody, but is only being held on an unrelated charge. Debus could not confirm the man’s name, his relation to the missing woman or the charge he’s being held on. “We have several people of interest; he just happens to be in our custody on another charge, but he is in our custody, and he is cooperative,” said Debus.
