Summary:

Jose Barragan is wanted for the homicide of 82-year-old Fidel Macias-Hernandez.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Prior to Fidel’s homicide, Jose had been wanted since February of 2024 by the Illinois Department Of Corrections for parole violation. Ten months after the parole violation warrant was issued, anuthorities allege that Jose shot into Fidel’s home while the senior citizen was simply walking in his kitchen. Fidel was rushed to a hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Fidel tragically died 15 days later. As of this posting, Jose is on the Illinois Department Of Corrections Most Wanted List for his parole violation charge. This also confirms he is still at large and not in custody for Fidel’s homicide. Jose’s tattoo of a five point crown means that he is most likely a Latin Kings gang member.

Additional Details:

Anyone with information on Jose’s whereabouts should contact Aurora Area Crime Stoppers (to qualify for the potential reward) at (630) 892-1000. Jose should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Fidel’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
