Joquan Antonio Porter is wanted for first-degree murder and related firearms charges in connection to a shooting that left an adult female dead inside a residence in Newport News, Virginia on April 1, 2026. Officers responded to the 300 block of Deputy Lane around 12:54 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located Keshia Pearley, 37, inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. Pearley was pronounced dead at the scene. The Newport News Police Department's investigation promptly identified the victim's husband, Joquan Antonio Porter, 39, as the suspect in her shooting. Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew stated that, based on information gathered so far by detectives, the case points to domestic violence.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for murder in connection to a shooting that occurred in Newport News. The reward was announced on July 13, 2026. The U.S. Marshals Service believes there may be someone locally with information concerning Joquan Porter's whereabouts. Pearley left behind seven children. A spokesperson with Newport News Police stated there are no updates in the case other than their detectives have been working with the USMS to locate Porter.
