Summary:
Kaleb Simpkins, 18, is a wanted homicide suspect in Oklahoma City in connection with the January 18, 2026 death of 19-year-old Emmitt Gresham Jr., a tattoo artist. Gresham was shot during what he believed was a haircut-for-tattoo exchange at an apartment in northeast Oklahoma City. The motive was a robbery gone bad.

Circumstances of Offense:
On January 18, 2026, at approximately 6:16 p.m., Emmitt Gresham Jr. was at an apartment in the 600 block of North Stonewall Avenue in northeast Oklahoma City. Gresham had agreed to do a tattoo in exchange for a haircut. While getting his hair cut, he was shot. Police were called and found Gresham suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival. According to reports, Gresham's last words were asking police to call his mother.
Additional Details:
Subsequent investigation revealed the incident was a setup robbery and murder. Anisha Danielle Washington, 21, the apartment co-owner, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for arranging the robbery. A 17-year-old male was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder and accessory to murder charges. Kaleb Simpkins has been identified as a wanted homicide suspect and remains at large, according to Oklahoma County’s warrants database. Law enforcement has requested public assistance in locating Simpkins. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to his capture, and Crime Stoppers is offering additional cash rewards.
