Lindsey Watts was last seen by her daughter at the family's home on North Fifth Street around 11 p.m. May 19, 2026. She was home for only a short while after completing a long shift at The Blessing Center, a nearby mental health facility. Watts' 14-year-old daughter last saw her mom around 11 p.m., when the two teens retreated to her bedroom to play games on her phone. A law enforcement source confirmed the teen was the last to see Lindsey. A witness nearby at 11:30 p.m. reported a hostile argument between a man and a woman that lasted about five minutes, after which he took off. The person could describe the vehicle in detail. Law enforcement discovered her car, keys, and wallet completely left behind at 510 North 5th Street. Her front porch door inside a fenced area of the property was found standing wide open. Her cell phone was found in a ditch not far from her house. Neighbors reported hearing her pet dogs barking frantically inside the home, a setup that was highly out of character.

Watts was reported missing on Wednesday, May 20, after she was last seen in her home the night before around 11 p.m. As of last week more than 360 tips have been submitted to investigators. An adult witness reported hearing yelling coming from Watts' home at midnight the night she was last seen. The witness was not a member of Watts' family. Dozens of search warrants have been executed at several homes in and outside of Knox County. The sheriff said he has executed more search warrants with this case than he has in his entire law enforcement career. Lie detectors and ground searches have also been conducted. A vehicle was seized on May 28 as part of the investigation, which investigators still have in their custody. Investigators searched a 2013 Ford F-150, a black iPhone recovered from the vehicle, records from multiple cellphone providers, and social media accounts. Chad Arment, father of Watts' daughter, met Lindsey Watts 14 years ago and at one time had to stay away from each other because of a protection order against him. He willingly reported to the Knox County Courthouse for a lie detector test and passed. Sheriff Knoche told the Edina Sentinel on Tuesday, June 30, that he has issued more search warrants in this case than all his cases combined over the last decade. Officials with the FBI office in St. Louis confirm they are aware of the search for missing mom Lindsey Watts, and stated 'The FBI partners with local law enforcement every day.' Lindsey's sister Lacey Watts stated at a prayer vigil: 'Our sister is missing, and our hearts are shattered. Every moment without her feels unbearable, and we ask everybody, please, help bring her home.' Christine Truitt, an administrator of The Blessing Center who worked with Watts for three months, stated: 'Lindsey's an amazing person. She was kind, hard-working... she was dedicated to the betterment of clients live.' According to Truitt, Watts' joyful demeanor remained unchanged in the days leading up to her disappearance.
