This record documents arrests, charges and convictions reported by courts, law enforcement agencies and news organizations. Every statement is tied to a cited source with an archived copy. A charge is an accusation, not proof of guilt; a person charged is presumed innocent unless convicted. Solve the Case does not allege that this person committed any offense beyond what the cited records state, and this record is not a suggestion that the person is connected to any unsolved case. How records are built, corrected and removed.
Summary of the record
Samuel Little was convicted in Los Angeles County in 2014 of the first-degree murders of three women killed in 1987 and 1989 and sentenced to three consecutive terms of life without parole. In December 2018 he pleaded guilty in Ector County, Texas to the 1994 murder of Denise Christie Brothers in Odessa and received a further life sentence. In 1984 a Florida jury acquitted him of a 1982 murder. Beginning in 2018 he confessed to killing 93 people across the United States between 1970 and 2005; the FBI said in 2019 that 50 of those confessions had been verified. He died in custody in California on December 30, 2020 at age 80.
