Custody record at the facility

Serving consecutive life sentences without parole; documents indicate he is housed at Limon Correctional Facility in Limon, Colorado.

This record documents arrests, charges and convictions reported by courts, law enforcement agencies and news organizations. Every statement is tied to a cited source with an archived copy. A charge is an accusation, not proof of guilt; a person charged is presumed innocent unless convicted. Solve the Case does not allege that this person committed any offense beyond what the cited records state, and this record is not a suggestion that the person is connected to any unsolved case. How records are built, corrected and removed.

Summary of the record

Robert Charles Browne was convicted of two first-degree murders committed in Colorado Springs, Colorado: the 1991 abduction and murder of 13-year-old Heather Dawn Church, for which he pleaded guilty in May 1995, and the 1987 strangulation of 15-year-old Rocio Delpilar Sperry, to which he pleaded guilty in July 2006. He is serving two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. While incarcerated, Browne confessed to killing 48-49 people across multiple states between 1970 and 1995, though only six additional killings have been corroborated by law enforcement.

Documented Arrests, Charges and Convictions

Dispositions are shown exactly as the cited records report them. Pending charges are updated when a court acts; a record with no remaining conviction or pending charge is removed from the site.
