Custody record at the facility

Gillis has been incarcerated at Louisiana State Penitentiary since 2008. Sean Vincent Gillis is currently housed in preventative segregation at Louisiana State Penitentiary at his request, and due to him being a high-profile inmate and labeled a serial killer.

This record documents arrests, charges and convictions reported by courts, law enforcement agencies and news organizations. Every statement is tied to a cited source with an archived copy. A charge is an accusation, not proof of guilt; a person charged is presumed innocent unless convicted. Solve the Case does not allege that this person committed any offense beyond what the cited records state, and this record is not a suggestion that the person is connected to any unsolved case. How records are built, corrected and removed.

Summary of the record

He stood trial for these crimes on July 21, 2008, and he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison after the jury deadlocked in the penalty phase. He remains at Louisiana State Penitentiary, also known as Angola, in maximum custody housing.
