This record documents arrests, charges and convictions reported by courts, law enforcement agencies and news organizations. Every statement is tied to a cited source with an archived copy. A charge is an accusation, not proof of guilt; a person charged is presumed innocent unless convicted. Solve the Case does not allege that this person committed any offense beyond what the cited records state, and this record is not a suggestion that the person is connected to any unsolved case. How records are built, corrected and removed.
Summary of the record
David Alan Gore committed six murders in Vero Beach and Indian River County, Florida, from 1981 to 1983. He was indicted for the first-degree, premeditated murder of Lynn Elliott, for the kidnapping of Lynn Elliott, for the kidnapping of Regan Martin, and for three counts of sexual battery of Regan Martin, and was found guilty of all six counts. Gore was sentenced to death and executed by lethal injection in 2012, having been on Florida's death row for twenty-eight years.

First-degree murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery (Lynn Elliott and Regan Martin)
Indian River County Sheriff's Office · Circuit Court, Pinellas County (after venue change from Indian River County) · Docket 8400482 · Arrested Jul 26, 1983 · Convicted Convicted · Sentence: Death penalty
Lynn Elliott (age 17) and Regan Martin (age 14), students at Vero Beach High School, were hitchhiking to Wabasso Beach when Gore and Waterfield picked them up on July 26, 1983. They took both girls to a house owned by Gore's parents. Gore later told police that he bound and placed the girls in different rooms prior to raping them. After assaulting Elliott repeatedly at the home of his vacationing parents, Gore shot the girl in the head as she ran down his driveway with her hands tied, trying to escape. A boy riding by on his bicycle witnessed the naked Gore shoot Elliot and drag her back to the house, then called 911.
