Dale Shawn Hausner was convicted on March 13, 2009, of six counts of first-degree murder, eighteen counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, sixteen counts of aggravated assault, twenty-three counts of drive-by shooting, nine counts of animal cruelty, three counts of discharging a firearm at a structure, one count of unlawful firearm discharge, and two counts of arson of an occupied structure. The offenses occurred during a fourteen-month crime spree from June 2005 to July 2006 in the Phoenix metropolitan area, including the cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Tolleson, Arizona. He was sentenced to six death sentences on March 27, 2009, along with consecutive life terms and approximately 365 years in prison. Hausner died by suicide on June 19, 2013, while incarcerated on Arizona's death row at the Eyman state prison complex in Florence.
