Peter Thomas Anthony Manuel was a Scottish serial killer convicted of seven murders between 1956 and 1958 across Lanarkshire and Glasgow, Scotland. He was convicted of the murders of Marion Watt (45), Vivienne Watt (16), Margaret Brown (41), Isabelle Cooke (17), Peter Smart (45), Doris Smart (42), and Michael Smart (10). Manuel was also convicted of one prior rape in 1946 and had served nine years in Peterhead Prison. He was arrested on 14 January 1958, tried at Glasgow High Court from 12-29 May 1958, convicted on 26 May 1958, and executed by hanging on 11 July 1958 at HM Prison Barlinnie, Glasgow.

On 8 March 1946, Manuel attacked a 26-year-old female on Ferry Road, Bothwell, banging her head against the ground and raping her. He was arrested on 9 March 1946 for this attack and appeared at High Court of Judiciary in Glasgow on 26 June 1946 where he was convicted of rape.

On 30 July 1955 (the same day his engagement to Anne O'Hara was called off), Manuel abducted Mary McLaughlan at knifepoint and attempted to rape her. He threatened to kill her by decapitation. She escaped. Manuel represented himself in court at Airdrie Sheriff Court and was acquitted. This was the only victim to live and testify against him.

On 17 September 1956, Manuel broke into the home of Marion Watt (45) and her daughter Vivienne Watt (16) in High Burnside, Glasgow. Marion's sister Margaret Brown (41) was also staying in the home. Manuel shot all three women in their beds and sexually assaulted 16-year-old Vivienne. Bodies were found by housekeeper on 17 September 1956. Manuel was convicted of capital murder on 29 May 1958.

On 28 December 1957, 17-year-old Isabelle Cooke left home to go to a dance at Uddingston Grammar School and was abducted. Manuel raped and strangled her with her own underwear, burying her body in a field. He led police to the burial site after his arrest on 16 January 1958. Body was discovered 16 January 1958.

On 1 January 1958, in early morning hours, Manuel broke into the home of Peter Smart (45), Doris Smart (42), and their son Michael Smart (10) in Uddingston. He shot all three in the head. Manuel remained in the house for several days, eating their food and caring for their cat. He stole cash and drove away in their car. He gave a ride to Constable Robert Smith who was searching for Isabelle Cooke. Police traced stolen banknotes from the Smart household to Manuel, leading to his arrest on 14 January 1958.
