Summary:
Sostenes Zamora-Salinas is wanted for the capital murder of Francisco Ibanez Jr. Authorities say that Sostenes and an accomplice pointed firearms at Francisco and his friends as they were sitting in Francisco’s car. The suspects ordered them out of the car and to lay on the ground. Sostenes then allegedly shot Francisco to death with an assault rifle. Francisco’s car which had custom features was stolen and later found in San Jacinto County.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
The second gunman in Francisco’s homicide was convicted and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. As of this posting, Sostenes has an active capital murder warrant in Harris County’s court records database. He is also shown as not being in custody. Sostenes was believed to have initially fled to the border city of Laredo, Texas. Sostenes was born in Texas but is most likely now hiding out in Mexico considering how long he has remained a fugitive.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Sostenes’s whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers Of Houston (to qualify for the potential reward) at 713-222-TIPS (8477). Sostenes should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Francisco’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case. (05/25/2026): I created an age progressed photo of Sostenes in Gemini Ai, showing what he “might” look like at 46-years-of-age.
