Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Early in the morning hours of May 4, 2007, Brittany McGlone finished working her overnight shift and went to the Winnsboro residence of her boyfriend, Jeff Stogner, and his family. When Stogner arrived back home around 2:30 p.m. that day, he discovered 19-year-old Brittany beaten to death in his bedroom. She had been left alone that day, as The Stogner family were out of the home for various reasons that all checked out. A friend of Jeff Stogners, Chad Carr, had visited Stogner earlier that morning and was considered a prime suspect. Carr has failed a lie detector test, his alibi time frame did not check out and a pair of women’s underwear were found in his possession that did not match the size of his girlfriend, but did match the size of McGlone’s. Supposedly, no DNA evidence was found. Carr was arrested in 2023, but the grand jury failed to reach an indictment due to a lack of evidence. Carr remains a suspect, but more evidence and/or information is needed to obtain an indictment.
