Roger Belton was last seen on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the intersection of Shaw Street and Crest Lane around 11PM. Witnesses reported they heard four gunshots in the area around 4AM on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Belton’s body was found by his friend around 6:45PM Sunday, in a vacant apartment at Stratham Place Apartment that was under renovation.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Belton died from multiple gunshot wounds around 5AM on October 27, 2019. Police stated Belton was homeless and used a walker. Belton was known in the community as “Horse”, “Pops” and “Old Timer”. Investigators believe there were multiple witnesses to the shooting who can provide information on the motive to this crime and suspect(s).
