Summary:
Aron Barcenas, along with co-defendant Julio Caesar Bernal are wanted for the homicide of 14-year-old Erick Alfaro.

Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities allege that the suspects committed a drive-by shooting as Erick was steps from his mobile home. They allegedly shot Erick in the head, killing the teenager. Everyone described Erick to investigators as a super nice kid with no issues including gang affiliation. The motive might have been some type of disagreement. In July of 2022, warrants were issued for Aron and Julio on charges of First Degree Murder and Attempted Murder. As of a 2024 news article, there have been few leads in the manhunt for the suspects. Aron and Julio are confirmed to still be at large since they are on the Chicago FBI Field Office’s Regional Most Wanted List. Update (11/24/2025): Authorities say that Aron and Julio may have fled to Mexico.
