Summary:
On Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026. At approximately 7:52 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Knorr Street, where they found 25-year-old Aaron Whitfield suffering from a gunshot wound to the head inside a tow truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 21-year-old woman, was shot several times from the waist down during the same incident and was transported to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital in stable condition.

Whitfield, 25, worked for 448 Towing and Recovery, the same company that lost another driver, David Garcia-Morales, 20, to a similar shooting three weeks earlier, according to law enforcement sources. Garcia-Morales was shot multiple times on Dec. 22 while inside a towing vehicle on Torresdale Avenue and died days later.
Additional Details:
The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 27 year-old Najee Williams, who is wanted in connection with two separate shootings involving tow truck drivers, including a December, 2025 fatal incident and a double shooting in January, 2026 leaving Aaron Whitfield deceased.
